Southern Table Kitchen & Bar

“The owners of Southern Table wanted to create a new dining experience in Westchester, New York” and they sure did.  This Pleasantville restaurant opened by the owners of Wood & Fire and Stone Fire New York a few months ago and I couldn’t be happier.

There was a comfort food restaurant missing in my rotation of places to go since the closure of Cedar Street Grill in Dobbs Ferry and Q Restaurant BBQ in Port Chester has not reopened in their soon to be announced location, however Southern Table Kitchen & Bar has filled it nicely.  Spending many years in Texas I feel that I know a thing or two about Southern cuisine and y’all don’t have to take my word for it, take a drive to Pleasantville and enjoy this east coast interpretation of Southern Hospitality…Yum!

Three tips on a having an enjoyable dining experience:

  1. Make Reservations. I’m not big on making reservations in advance, especially at a restaurant like Southern Table, however this place is extremely popular regardless of the time or day.  It’s super easy and in less than 5-minutes making a reservation online you can be guaranteed a table without the headache of having a long wait.
  2. Be Prepared to Valet.  Did I mention the restaurant is extremely popular?  They don’t seem to have enough parking to accommodate all the cars, so don’t be surprised if you are asked to valet your car even though it seems that the parking spots are adjacent to the restaurant.
  3. Save Room.  There are so many items on the menu to try, this is easily a 3-course meal – appetizer, entree and dessert (with some sides to share).
