The Goosefeather Experience with Celebrity Chef Dale Talde

I recently had an opportunity to have brunch at Goosefeather which is coming up on its three year anniversary. They opened in September 2019.  I went with one of my NYC foodie friends who once told me this is one of her favorite restaurants in Westchester. She had visited for dinner but eagerly accompanied me for brunch.

Goosefeather is in a breathtaking location (a historic mansion in Tarrytown) offering a unique twist (Hong Kong inspired) on Chinese cuisine by celebrity chef (Dale Talde).  A wonderful restaurant to have a fun & memorable foodie experience that is not stuffy or intimidating.

We started off with a few refreshing Mocktails (Basil Bliss and Staying 5-Alive) and the Market Mushroom Bao and Classic Chilled Lobster Bao.  Followed by my personal favorite Smashed Crispy Fingerling Potatoes.  Two traditional brunch items get the Chef Dale twist; Smoked Salmon Fried Rice with Crème Fraiche and Everything Bagel Spice and Kung Pao Chicken & Mochi Waffles. Of course, we left room for dessert and tried the Hong Kong Mile Tea Tiramisu that had chewy Boba and Coco Pearls on top, which was the perfect and unexpectedly lite ending to our wonderful meal.

Brunch (or any meal) at Goosefeather should be on everyone’s list of things to try this Fall; there really is something for everyone on the menu and dare I say you will NOT be hungry a few hours after having a meal here. Diners can enjoy Chinese staples and twists on the classics that Chef Dale has become known for over the years.

Below are some of the photos and their brunch menu, complete with many vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options so that everyone in your party can enjoy a perfect meal.  Goosefeather is also open for dinner and for a more casual, drinks + music experience, try the Lawn Bar.  It’s super easy to book on Resy.   Here are their menus for all times of day or evening.

As if you needed any more visuals, here are some photos of the interior:

Goosefeather is located in The King Mansion at the Tarrytown House Estate, which sits high on the hill above Sunnyside, the former home of famed writer Washington Irving (most recognized for his story, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow). The venue offers four separate dining rooms, a 9-seat bar, and both indoor and outdoor lounge areas. On colder nights, fire pits adorn the outside lounge area. Additionally, two terraces, a garden and a front lawn provide outdoor seating during warmer weather. Goosefeather is located at 49 East Sunnyside Lane, Tarrytown, New York 10591, and offers valet and self-park options. For more information, or to make a reservation, guests can call 914-829-5454, or book online via Resy.
