I love the power of the Facebook Moms Groups. I saw a post a couple of weeks ago about a local company making produce deliveries. The company, based in Yorktown, apparently supplied restaurants mostly; but when restaurants started to cut back on their weekly orders, they began delivering to families who wanted & needed a weekly delivery. So I ordered. I posted. I thought, “I will do this forever.” It took a pandemic for me to find a service like this– but I was so happy with my order after the first delivery that I wondered why I had not been doing this all along.
Fast forward one week– and the dreaded email comes out, thanking everyone for their support but they are overwhelmed and they’ve decided to concentrate their efforts locally, delivering on Tuesday and Thursday to all towns in Northern Westchester. So if you’re in Chappaqua, Cortland, Brewster, Mahopac, Carmel, Yorktown or Somers, you are in luck. Weekly produce dropped off at your door is a gift when you’re cooking for a family. Here’s their order form and a photo of my first and only delivery.
Their email is a little unclear on the form so it’s [email protected]
Well, I figured if this company is doing this, there has to be another company that might be in the same position, who will deliver to us in southern Westchester. I contacted Brophy Brothers in Yonkers and I’m hoping they can deliver fresh produce to all of us very soon! If nothing comes of it, I will keep searching as I feel like there is a need, now especially, but something we should have been using all along. Please stay tuned to my IG and FB posts on this and as soon as we have someone willing to supply us with fruits and veggies, I will let you know!
In complete honesty, I’ve been very hesitant to share anything this month. It’s a sensitive time. I have wanted to be mindful of the situations everyone is going through. I’m trying to be aware of what’s truly important and what’s helpful during this crisis. I’ve been watching business emails come through my inbox daily and I appreciate the ones who give helpful tips while at home and I’ve wondered about businesses who are sending emails out that seem very “business as usual.” I hope that this month’s posts have offered things that are helpful to you and your family and with April around the corner, I intend to do the same. If there is anything I can do to help anyone of you (or your business) right now, please reach out. xoxo
